Co-owner and managing pharmacist Ryan Bender has spent two decades caring for patients across south central Wisconsin. Meet the award-winning pharmacist who’ll know your name — and your medication list.
Ryan Bender is the co-owner and managing pharmacist of Qual-i-tee Pharmacy. Since graduating from the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy in 2005, he has spent his career caring for patients in community pharmacies across south central Wisconsin; small towns where the pharmacist knows your name, answers your questions, and is part of the community. That’s the kind of pharmacy he’s bringing to Madison.
Ryan’s care goes well beyond filling prescriptions. He has led medication therapy management programs, sitting down with patients to untangle their whole medication list and catch problems before they start. He built medication synchronization programs so patients make one pickup a month instead of five. And he has established collaborative practice agreements with physicians that let pharmacists do more for patients directly — from nicotine replacement therapy to home blood pressure monitoring to inhaler spacers for asthma care.
Ryan is the pharmacist other pharmacists call with vaccine questions. He has built vaccine programs from the ground up — writing safety protocols, training pharmacists and technicians on the latest CDC recommendations, and running clinics in pharmacies, workplaces, and the community, including travel vaccines as specialized as yellow fever. He has served on the board of the Dane County Immunization Coalition since 2019, including a term as Chair, and is its current Vice Chair; in 2024, Immunize Wisconsin named him its Immunizations Champion. He also teaches: since 2008, he’s been a preceptor for the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy, mentoring the pharmacists who come next.

Ryan has volunteered at Madison’s back-to-school vaccine clinic for years — part of the HairCutz4Kids event with free haircuts, school supplies, and new shoes for the first 80 kids vaccinated.
