Description
Wild Yonder calls Open Air “a true air fragrance,” and it’s the brightest thing they make. Bergamot and blue tansy on top, clary sage and vetiver in the heart, and a very small dose of ambrette and soft musk underneath to keep it from floating off entirely.
Blue tansy is the odd note, herbal and a little sweet, and it’s what makes this smell like a field rather than a citrus cologne.
It comes in a 10 mL glass bottle. The base is plant-derived squalane, and the scent is a parfum of essential oils and aromatic compounds. Wild Yonder calls the line “functional fragrance”: each one is built around a mood the brand has in mind, which is their pitch, not ours.
How to use it: a little on the pulse points, or on the palms if you’d rather breathe it than wear it. It’s an oil, so it sits close to the skin. The brand’s suggestion is before you sit down to write or think.
Wild Yonder Studio is a two-person perfumery (Kat and Greg) working out of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Self-taught, small batch, and in the habit of naming things exactly what they smell like.
