Description
The soft one. Feral Milk is a skin scent: a warm plant musk from ambrette seed on top, vanilla and sun-dried hay in the middle, sandalwood and benzoin at the base. Wild Yonder uses vanilla CO2 rather than a sweet vanilla, so it reads as warm and dry, not dessert.
Hay absolute is the unusual thing here. It smells like a barn in late summer, in the best way, and it’s what keeps the musk from going generic.
It comes in a 10 mL glass bottle. The base is plant-derived squalane, and the scent is a parfum of essential oils and aromatic compounds. Wild Yonder calls the line “functional fragrance”: each one is built around a mood the brand has in mind, which is their pitch, not ours.
How to use it: a little on the pulse points, or on the palms if you’d rather breathe it than wear it. It’s an oil, so it sits close to the skin. Wild Yonder suggests it in the evening, after a bath.
Wild Yonder Studio is a two-person perfumery (Kat and Greg) working out of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Self-taught, small batch, and in the habit of naming things exactly what they smell like.
