Description
Wool sea sponges are the soft, dense kind, harvested by hand in the Gulf of Mexico. A sponge is an animal, technically, and a renewable one: these are collected in a way that lets the beds regrow, and the sponge itself is biodegradable when you’re finally done with it.
This is the small one, averaging 4.5″ across, sold loose without the gift box. Good for a child’s bath, a travel kit, or anyone who finds the big sponge a handful.
Care: squeeze it out after the bath and keep it somewhere it can dry. A natural sponge air-dries completely and, looked after that way, lasts for years.
From Baudelaire of Swanzey, New Hampshire. The 5.5″ size comes boxed if you’re giving one.
